the founder
Gabriela.
i built matchy for the girl i was at 18.
her story
“I turned 16 in a world that told me what to eat.
Like many girls around me, I spent two years counting calories. Opening apps that measure. Feeling guilty when I slipped, as if “slipping” was supposed to mean anything.”
“At 19, I understood something. All these apps that were supposed to help me were actually making me more anxious. More judgmental toward myself. Further from my body, not closer.”
“I uninstalled. And I started sleeping again.”
“In the years that followed, I looked for something else. Journals. Moments of pause. Friends who shared the same questions. Soft rituals. And I saw, around me, that other girls were looking for the same thing and couldn’t find it either.”
“At 22, I started sketching Matchy. Not as an entrepreneurial project but as a gift. For the girl I was at 18, who would have loved to have this in her phone. For the girls who are today where I once was.”
“Two years later, Matchy is almost here. And every line of code, every illustration, every word in this app was thought through with a single question in mind: would it have done good to the girl I was?”
“If the answer is yes, it’s in Matchy. If not, we cut it.”

the conviction that started it all
matchy is not just another app.
“Gen Z wellness has become a market. Dozens of apps are trying to capture young women’s attention, often with the same tools as the apps they claim to replace.”
“We chose to do something else. Not an app to measure your life, an app to walk alongside it. Not a coach, a wise friend. Not a score, a universe.”
“Matchy is the only app in its category that can say: even if you only use it once a week, we’ll be happy.”
behind the scenes
matchy has been in the making, every day,
for two years.
